Why do the ID Cards have an issue date?

Airlines and other businesses/facilities may request that your documentation be current within one year. While we do not require our clients to renew their IDs each year, we recommend that your ID be current within one year to avoid potential issues. If you purchased your ID as part of a kit, replacement ID's are available at any time for $24.99 (per card which includes standard USPS shipping).
